Description
Tarutao National Park is a fascinating protected area off the coast of southern Thailand, encompassing 51 islands in the Andaman Sea. A paradise for lovers of wildlife and history.
The park is famous for its beautiful beaches, like the 3-kilometer-long Ao Son, where sea turtles lay their eggs. Explore the park's only Luu Doo waterfall or take a boat ride to the mysterious Crocodile Cave (Jorakae Cave).
The site hides a dark history - a former political prison in Ao Talo Wao and Ao Talo Udang. The rich fauna includes langurs, macaques, wild boars and more than 100 species of birds, including eagles and hornbills.
