Rostock Heath

Rostock Heath is Germany's largest urban forest, spreading over some 6,000 hectares along the Baltic coast.

This unique ecosystem offers a variety of landscapes - from beech and pine forests to wetlands and sand dunes. Well-maintained trails encourage hiking, biking and horseback riding.

The 'Biodiversity' explorers' trail in the Wiethagen forest is a 2.8 km route with ten educational stations. The forest is accessible to people with disabilities, including hand cyclists. The landscape, which changes with the seasons, creates ideal conditions for wildlife observation and photography.
