Parque Nacional Rincón de la Vieja

Parque Nacional Rincón de la Vieja is a fascinating national park in the Guanacaste province of Costa Rica, offering extraordinary volcanic attractions.

In an area of more than 14,000 hectares, you'll discover an active volcano with nine craters, bubbling mud lakes, hot springs and fumaroles.

The park is famous for its diverse ecosystems - from humid rainforests to rare dry tropical forests, inhabited by more than 300 species of birds and numerous mammals, including monkeys and pumas.

The Las Pailas Trail and the spectacular La Cangreja Waterfall (known as the Blue Lagoon) are the real gems of the place.
