Description
Castlewellan Forest Park is a true gem among Northern Ireland's national parks. Located in the scenic Mourne Mountains, it offers one of the finest collections of trees and shrubs in Europe, including rare specimens from Japan and a giant sequoia planted in 1856.
The biggest attraction is the Peace Maze, one of the world's largest hedge mazes, consisting of 6,000 yew trees. For those who love physical activity, there are 27 km of biking trails and 12 km of hiking trails.
Children will delight in 'Animal Wood,' a wooden playground with wildlife motifs, while anglers can fish for trout in a 40-acre lake.
