Description
The Museum of Cieszyn Silesia is one of the oldest public museums in Central Europe and the oldest public museum in Poland, founded in 1802 by Father Leopold Jan Szersznik.
The collection includes more than 9,000 exhibits, including valuable works of Gothic and Renaissance art, sculptures, paintings and fascinating exhibits related to the history of Cieszyn Silesia.
The museum is housed in a historic building with a picturesque French garden and octagonal pavilion, known as the Peace Park, where there is a mural symbolizing the largest film festival in the region.
