Description

The Andrew Sheptytsky National Museum in Lviv is a treasure trove of Ukrainian national art and culture. Founded in 1905 by Metropolitan Andrew Sheptytskyi, it has an impressive collection of over 100,000 exhibits.

The museum features the largest collection of medieval Ukrainian sacred art, including 4,000 icons from the 14th-18th centuries and valuable manuscripts. Particularly noteworthy are the Zhovkva and Bohorodchan iconostasis - true gems of Ukrainian icon painting.

Four permanent exhibitions present Ukrainian art from the Middle Ages to the 20th century, as well as a rich collection of folk art.
