Description
The Archaeological Museum in Biskupin is a fascinating leap into the past, dubbed the 'Polish Pompeii'. Discovered in 1933, the 2,700-year-old settlement impresses with its reconstructions of Bronze and Iron Age ramparts, streets and houses.
In the Museum Pavilion you'll see the tools, ornaments and weapons of the ancient inhabitants, and in the Experimental Archaeology Quarter you'll see how everyday objects were made using methods from thousands of years ago.
The biggest attraction is the September archaeological festival, during which you can participate in workshops, demonstrations and games from the distant past.
