Description
Sharjah Art Foundation - Al Mureijah Art Spaces - Al Mureijah Square is a unique combination of contemporary art and historic architecture.
Five modern buildings designed by architects Mona El Mousfy and Sharmeen Azam Inayat offer approximately 2,000 sq. m. of exhibition space to showcase ambitious art projects in a variety of media.
Glass facades, windows and skylights provide natural light, while connected roofs serve as additional outdoor galleries. Thick perimeter walls and winding alleyways reflect the unique character of the traditional architecture, creating an integrated experience that gives new context to both the artworks and the location itself.

We are so happy to be able to join this amazing event, and are planning to regularly visit it in future. Well done! A big shout out to curators. A kind of experience that shapes you, you start see the world differently once visited
WajhuAllah Arif Hussain2 years agoIt is one of the best places to visit in Sharjah, there a huge library and the backyard is very nicely landscaped with a very good coffee shop. Non-traditional sitting area the open space makes it a great spot for hanging with your buddies. Highly recommend to visit around sunset and enjoy an evening there.
abucku2 years agoBeautiful old city within the city. Part of Sharjah Biënnale. It’s looks like a amaze and you find out galleries here and there when you roam (you can get map for easy access though) there’s an abandoned old building near the location. The place is beautifully maintained with very friendly and informative security/staffs. Loved the atmosphere.Related categories
