Description

The Archaeological Reserve - Piast Castle in Giecz is a fascinating historical site from the early Middle Ages.

It is a place full of secrets of the past, where you can admire the impressive earthen ramparts reaching 9 meters high, as well as the foundations of the palatium and the preserved Romanesque church.

The site offers a unique journey back in time to the early days of the Polish state, when Giecz was an important military and administrative center of the Piast dynasty, protecting the then capital, Gniezno.

The museum displays valuable archaeological finds, and in the educational settlement you can experience an interactive history lesson.
