Museu Diocesà de Tarragona

Museu Diocesà de Tarragona is a fascinating museum located in the cloisters of Tarragona Cathedral.

The collection includes an impressive collection of religious art, including medieval and modern paintings, sculptures, silverware and archaeological pieces from the first centuries of Christianity.

Particularly noteworthy are a small bronze liturgical vessel from the 7th century and a magnificent early Christian Bethesda sarcophagus from the 5th century. The Treasury Hall delights with mid-14th century Mudejar-Gothic art, characterized by polychrome heraldic, geometric and figural motifs.
