Description

Lázaro Galdiano Museum is a true gem among Madrid's museums. It is housed in the former residence of José Lázaro Galdiano, in a neo-Baroque building from 1903, which is a work of art in itself.

The collection includes more than 12,600 pieces, including paintings, sculptures, jewelry, weapons and textiles from the 4th century BC to the early 20th century. One can admire works by such masters as Hieronymus Bosch, El Greco, Velázquez and Goya.

This lesser-known but extremely rich museum offers an intimate atmosphere for contemplating art, away from the crowds of more popular galleries.
