Art Institute of Chicago

Art Institute of Chicago is one of the oldest and largest art museums in the United States. It has an impressive collection of more than 300,000 works of art spanning thousands of years and various cultures.

The museum boasts the largest collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist art outside the Louvre, with works by Monet, Cassatt, Renoir and Degas. The 264,000-square-foot Modern Wing, designed by Renzo Piano, is dedicated to contemporary art.

About forty special exhibitions on a variety of themes are held annually, making each visit a new experience.
