Weald & Downland Living Museum

Weald & Downland Living Museum is a fascinating outdoor museum where history comes alive before your eyes. More than 50 historic buildings dating from 950 AD to the 19th century are gathered on 40 acres of picturesque woodland.

Here you can cook in a Tudor-era kitchen, watch a blacksmith work in a Victorian forge, or try traditional weaving. The museum also offers beautiful walking trails and views of the South Downs National Park.

The dog-friendly site allows the whole family to enjoy history, and the Waterside Café provides a relaxing setting overlooking the mill pond.
