Description
Naturhistorisches Museum Mainz is the largest natural history museum in Rhineland-Palatinate, housed in the former Reichklar monastery dating back to 1272.
The museum has an impressive collection of more than 1.5 million artifacts spanning 44 million years of history. Among the unique specimens are the complete skeleton of a 45-million-year-old primitive horse, a Tasmanian wolf and a group of kwagga, of which only three specimens exist in the world.
With interactive elements and well-organized exhibitions, the museum is a fascinating educational adventure for adults and children alike.
