Description
Musée d'Orsay is a unique museum housed in the former Gare d'Orsay train station dating back to 1900.
It is famous for its impressive collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist art, showcasing works by such masters as Monet, Renoir, Van Gogh and Cézanne.
The architecture of the building is a work of art in itself - the iron and glass vaulting and beautiful interiors designed by Gaetana Aulenti create an extraordinary setting for the exhibits.
An interesting feature is the 1:100 scale model of the Paris Opera House located under the glass floor, allowing one to understand the urban planning of Paris at that time.
