Byzantine and Christian Museum

The Byzantine and Christian Museum is a treasure trove of Byzantine and post-Byzantine art and culture. The collection of more than 25,000 artifacts includes icons, sculptures, ceramics, church textiles, paintings and jewelry from the 3rd to 20th centuries.

The museum is housed in the historic 1848 Ilissia Villa, one of the few surviving 19th century buildings in Athens.

To facilitate the tour, thematic routes have been provided that create a narrative about the objects and their interrelationships. After the tour, relax at a charming cafe in the museum's garden.
