Description
The Maria Znamierowska-Prüfferowa Ethnographic Museum in Torun is one of the three largest ethnographic museums in Poland, founded in 1958.
The historic Arsenal building houses the modern exhibition 'Secrets of Everyday Life', showing the life of villagers from 100-150 years ago. You can enter a former barber shop, sharpen a razor or sit in a bench with an inkwell.
The museum also has a 2-hectare Ethnographic Park (open-air museum) with historic buildings from the regions of Kuyavia and Chelmno Land, including a 19th-century cottage, a chapel and a water mill. Numerous workshops in pottery, weaving and clay painting are organized here.
