Description
Darvas-La Roche House is Romania's first Art Nouveau museum, housed in a beautiful villa dating from 1909-1912. Designed by the Vágó brothers in the Viennese Art Nouveau style, this architectural gem impresses with its geometric forms and intricate details.
After extensive renovation, the museum offers a fascinating journey back in time to the La Belle Epoque era. Here you can admire original bedroom furniture, recreated bourgeois interiors, and learn about the history of Imre Darvas, a timber entrepreneur, and Alfred La Roche, a Swiss banker.
The villa's garden is an oasis of tranquility, perfect for relaxing after exploring this gem of Art Nouveau architecture.
