Description
The Le Locle Watch Museum is a fascinating place for watchmaking enthusiasts, housed in the historic Château des Monts.
This unique museum offers an extensive collection of clocks, miniature automatons and unique exhibits, including mechanical singing birds. The gem of the collection is a 'singing mirror' made by the Rochat brothers in the early 19th century, reportedly given by Napoleon to an Ottoman princess.
The park surrounding the museum is decorated with sundials and larger, sculptural timepieces, including a replica of al-Jazari's Elephant Clock.
