Description
Sansevero Chapel Museum is a true gem of Baroque art in the heart of Naples.
This place delights with extraordinary works of art, among which reigns the 'Christ under the Shroud' - a marble sculpture by Giuseppe Sanmartino from 1753, so realistic that, according to legend, it was created by magic.
Another fascinating attraction is the 'Anatomical Machines' - mysterious exhibits depicting the human circulatory system. The chapel also hides magnificent frescoes, including the 'Glory of Paradise' adorning the ceiling, and other masterful sculptures from the 18th century.
