Description
Prehistoric Sites and Decorated Caves of the Vézère Valley is a unique UNESCO-listed site offering a fascinating journey back in time to the Paleolithic era.
The valley is home to more than 150 prehistoric sites, including 25 decorated caves with impressive animal paintings. The most famous cave, Lascaux, impresses with vivid hunting scenes with more than 100 animal figures.
Each cave has its own unique character - Font-de-Gaume with 230 paintings, Les Combarelles with 800 engravings, or Laugerie Haute with an extensive collection of prehistoric artifacts. It's a true feast for lovers of history, art and archaeology.
