Description

The National Archaeological Museum of Madrid is the most important archaeological museum in Spain, founded in 1867 by Queen Isabella II.

It delights with its rich collection of artifacts from different eras - from prehistory to the 19th century. Among the treasures you'll find Egyptian sarcophagi and mummies, Iberian artwork, Greek and Roman artifacts and pre-Columbian objects.

The museum is housed in the historic Neoclassical-style Palace of the National Library and Museums. Interactive exhibits and educational programs make history come alive before your eyes!
