Description
FLUGT - Refugee Museum of Denmark is a unique museum dedicated to the history of refugees in Denmark and around the world. Designed by the famous BIG Bjarke Ingels Group studio, it combines original hospital buildings with modern architectural elements.
The museum presents personal stories of refugees through immersive exhibits, audio recordings and film footage. Particularly moving is an audio walk through the forest that recreates daily life in the camp.
Next to the museum is the refugee cemetery, where some 1,800 Germans were buried - a site visited by thousands of descendants each year.
