Description
Bishop's Waltham Palace is a medieval palace built in the 12th century by Bishop Henry of Blois, grandson of William the Conqueror. This fascinating monument has hosted many monarchs, including Henry V, Henry VIII and Mary I.
The surviving ruins include the Great Hall, a three-story tower and a courtyard with a moat. The only remaining portion of the 15th-century living quarters now houses the City of Bishop's Waltham Museum, with an exhibition dedicated to the powerful Bishops of Winchester.
It's the perfect place for history buffs and families looking for an educational experience in a picturesque setting.
