Description
Murinsel Graz is a unique floating island in the Mur River, designed by American artist Vito Acconci in 2003. Resembling a giant shell, the 47-meter-long structure is a fascinating combination of art and architecture.
The island is connected to both banks of the river by pedestrian bridges and offers extraordinary views of Graz's historic center. There is a cafe with an observation deck on one level and an amphitheater on the other, where concerts and performances are held in the summer.
It's the perfect place to relax while exploring the city and enjoy the panorama of medieval buildings with red roofs.
