Description
The Bastei Bridge is a spectacular historical monument located in the Saxon Switzerland National Park. This 76.5-meter-long stone bridge connects majestic rock formations, offering breathtaking views of the Elbe River valley from a height of 194 meters.
Originally a wooden bridge from 1824, it was replaced by the current sandstone structure in 1851. The dramatic landscape has inspired many artists, including Caspar David Friedrich.
Nearby are the ruins of the medieval Neurathen Castle, which add to the site's historic charm.
