The Berlin-Hohenschönhausen National Memorial is a unique historical museum housed in a former Stasi prison.

It is an authentically preserved prison complex where you can see what the system of political persecution in the GDR was like. A special experience is the tours led by former prisoners who share personal stories and memories of their incarceration.

The exhibit uses original objects, historical photos and multimedia stations to bring the history of the place to life. Those interested in Cold War history and human rights will find it an extremely moving experience.
