Description

The Guanyin Goddess Statue is an imposing statue with 18 arms that is the main attraction at Wat Plai Laem temple on Koh Samui Island. This colossal image of the Chinese Goddess of Mercy and Compassion is surrounded by a picturesque lake where fish can be fed for a small fee.

The temple combines traditional Thai architecture with Chinese elements to create a unique and colorful environment. In addition to Guanyin, the temple complex is adorned with a 30-meter statue of a laughing Buddha, symbolizing wealth and prosperity.

It is an especially important place for women praying for fertility and health, as well as for anyone interested in Buddhist and Chinese cultural practices.
