Description
St. Laurenzen is a historic church in the heart of St. Gallen, combining Romanesque and Neo-Gothic elements. Its fascinating history dates back to the 13th century, and it owes its current shape to a mid-19th century reconstruction.
Climbing the church tower (189 steps) offers breathtaking panoramic views of the city and surrounding area. The interior impresses with beautiful stained glass windows by Max Brunner and frescoes by Josef Wannenmacher.
Music lovers will appreciate the regular organ concerts on one of the oldest working organs in Switzerland, installed in 1833 by Alois Schönach.
