Description
St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna is one of the oldest and most important religious monuments in the Austrian capital. This Gothic gem impresses with its multicolored roof with a Habsburg double-headed eagle and an imposing 136-meter south tower called 'Steffl'.
The interior of the cathedral hides a wealth of Gothic details, including a pulpit designed by Anton Pilgram, stained glass windows and numerous artifacts. Be sure to climb the north tower for a panoramic view of the city, or visit the catacombs, where Habsburgs and other notables are laid to rest.
