Description
St. Andrew's Church is a unique monument of Byzantine architecture in Lviv. Originally built as a Roman Catholic church between 1600 and 1630, it was converted into a Greek Catholic church in 1991.
The building impresses with its three-nave basilica with a long chancel, a 38-meter tower and a facade decorated with sculptures of saints and symbols of Poland and Lithuania.
The interior conceals a five-part iconostasis, a characteristic element of Eastern churches that adds spiritual and artistic significance to the place.
