St. Peter's Basilica is one of the most impressive religious buildings in the world, a masterpiece of Renaissance architecture.

The interior of the basilica is resplendent with works of art, including Michelangelo's famous 'Pieta', Bernini's canopy and exquisite mosaics. The dome designed by Michelangelo rises to a height of 138 meters and offers a breathtaking view of the city.

Beneath the basilica is the Vatican Necropolis, a burial site dating back to the 4th century, where tradition says St. Peter rests.
