Description
Casa de los Once Patios is a historic complex that was originally a convent of Dominican nuns from the 18th century. This colonial building impresses with its unique layout of five courtyards (out of the original eleven) and a rich history associated with Vasco de Quiroga.
Today it's a center for handicrafts, with numerous stores where you can admire and purchase regional wares - copper objects from Santa Clara del Cobre, musical instruments from Paracho, hand-painted ceramics and colorful textiles.
Don't miss the 16th century Baroque bathroom and an outdoor mural dedicated to the art of the artisans.
