Chamarel Seven Colored Earth Geopark is an extraordinary geological phenomenon—dunes in seven shades: red, brown, purple, green, blue, violet, and yellow, formed by the erosion of volcanic ash 600 million years ago.
The sands spontaneously form layers thanks to the properties of iron and aluminum oxides. The park also includes Mauritius' highest waterfall (100 meters) and an Aldabra giant tortoise enclosure. An ideal place for lovers of geology, photography, and nature.
