Kryty Bazar

Istanbul's Indoor Bazaar, also known as the Grand Bazaar (Kapalıçarşı), is one of the oldest and largest covered markets in the world, operating since 1455.

It's a veritable maze of 61 covered streets with more than 4,000 stores where you can find everything from traditional Turkish carpets to ceramics, lanterns, clothing and antiques.

Every corner of the bazaar hides a history dating back to the Ottoman Empire. Originally wooden, it was rebuilt in stone and brick after a fire in the 18th century, creating a fascinating mosaic of architecture and culture.
