Lia Fáil (Stone of Destiny) is an ancient stone monument located on Tara Hill in County Meath. This granite boulder, about 1 meter high, is surrounded by Irish mythology and legends.
According to legends, the stone possessed supernatural powers - it gave out a joyful roar when the rightful king of Ireland stood on it. It was one of four legendary treasures brought to Ireland by the Tuatha Dé Danann, an ancient race of divine beings.
The vantage point at the stone offers breathtaking views, especially during sunset.
