Thomond Bridge

Thomond Bridge is a seven-arch limestone bridge dating from 1836, connecting Limerick's past and present. Its distinctive design with curved breakwaters and stone balustrade is an important part of the city's landscape.

Walking across the bridge, visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of the River Shannon and nearby King John's Castle. It is an ideal destination for history, photography and architecture enthusiasts.

The bridge was upgraded in the 1990s - steel lanterns and flower basket supports were added, giving it additional charm. It is an important part of the city's heritage, being located near the historic Treaty Stone.
