Description
Bridgewater Monument is an imposing 33-meter Doric column commemorating Francis Egerton, known as the 'father of inland navigation'.
Climbing 172 steps, you'll reach a viewing platform offering a breathtaking panorama of Hertfordshire. From the top, you'll see the picturesque village of Aldbury and the Grand Union Canal.
The monument, designed by Sir Jeffry Wyattville in 1832, is located on the beautiful Ashridge Estate, where you can also admire the flowering bluebells and walk through the extensive woods.
