Description
Landgrafen Palace is a majestic castle towering over Marburg. Originally built as a fort in the 11th century, it has been transformed into an impressive stone building with Gothic and Renaissance elements.
The castle boasts the Fürstensaal (Prince's Hall), the largest secular Gothic hall in Germany, decorated with precious tapestries depicting the biblical story of the Prodigal Son.
The castle terrace offers breathtaking views of the city and the Lahn River. This is the site of the famous Marburg Colloquium between Martin Luther and Ulrich Zwingli in 1529.
