Description

Kurfürstliches Schloss is an impressive electoral palace in Mainz, which is one of the most important Renaissance buildings in Germany.

It combines Baroque and Rococo styles, impressing with its rich decorations and frescoes. The palace was built in the 17th century and has been painstakingly restored despite severe damage during World War II.

The interior impresses with a Grand Staircase designed by Balthasar Neumann and magnificent halls, including the Great Hall and the Hall of Mirrors. The east wing houses the Römisch-Germanisches Zentralmuseum, a museum showcasing cultural life from prehistory to the early Middle Ages.
