Semperoper Dresden

Semperoper Dresden is one of the most prestigious opera houses in the world, combining Renaissance and Baroque architecture.

Built by Gottfried Semper in 1841, this impressive edifice survived fire and war damage to be reborn as a symbol of Dresden's cultural heritage.

It was here that the premieres of works by Wagner and Strauss took place, and today you can enjoy performances by the world-class Staatskapelle Dresden and Semperoper Ballett.
