Description
Krkonoše National Park is a unique natural area located in northern Bohemia. It encompasses the highest peak in the Czech Republic, Sněžka (1603 meters above sea level), offering breathtaking panoramic views.
The park is famous for its diverse mountain ecosystems, including alpine meadows, peat bogs and spruce forests. Here you'll find more than 250 species of lichens and nearly 1,000 species of fungi.
Numerous hiking trails, including the popular route to Sněžka or the Polish-Czech Friendship Path, await lovers of active recreation. The park's name refers to the legendary figure of Karkonosze - the spirit of the mountains, protector of forests and mountain pastures.
