Description
Království Železnic is a fascinating railroad museum that will take you into a miniature world of trains and landscapes.
It's a place full of interactive railroad mock-ups in 1:87 scale, where you can admire replicas of Czech buildings and moving car models. Locomotives equipped with cameras on the front transmit live video to an on-site movie theater.
The museum also offers a historical exhibition of Czech railroads and special play areas for children. An ideal place to spend 2-4 hours, both for railroad enthusiasts and families.

Vickyg Gowthorpea week agoFabulous museum, lots to do. You can also drive a simulator train.( If you know language) Or just beep the horn and open the doors, if a visitor. Air-conditioning. A welcome bonus. They have a little cafe. Not sure of the menu, as we had drinks, there was ice- cream and cakes.
Definitely a family favourite. It's ok, if you are a massive train fan either. My photo isn't of trains, my son took all the train photos. I am more into F1 than trains.
JAWS11 months agoThis rail museum is a very entertaining and educational place to bring your children (grown-ups who like history would enjoy it even more). It is actually underground, spanning two levels so you even get a feel of being in a subway.
The price of entry is a bit steep, as well as the food and drinks upstairs, but that is to be expected since it's Prague.
The depiction of Prague - and other cities in the Czech Republic - in the models is very close to real life and some buildings are replicated precisely. One could explore the nooks & crannies of all the models for hours. And they are being continuously updated by the staff here.
There are many stations with buttons so kids (and grown ups) can have fun with interactive play. There are also a couple of tracks for racing little cars, unfortunately, not all cars work or run.
The children love the little model trains running throughout the entire track. Also check out the interactive tramway with real-time screens. There is always a crowd there.
There are also old cabins from decades ago (even the very first Prague metro car with old analog controls in the cafeteria). Seating is scattered throughout the place with train-themed chairs. Very cool! 🚈🚝🚄🚂🚋🚉
In summary, there is tons to see here so come early in the day if you want your money's worth. This place definitely warrants a more than once visit...if only they could make it more affordable for families.
Patrick O'Reilly9 months agoVery interesting model railway display. Extensive range of locomotives, carriages, buildings and scenery. Lighting changes to create night and day atmosphere. Allow at least 2 hours to study and enjoy all the layouts. Watch out for the zebra criminal being loaded onto the prison bus.Related categories
