Katedra w Roskilde

Roskilde Cathedral is a gem of Gothic architecture and a UNESCO site that impresses with its monumental red brick construction.

As the first Gothic temple in Scandinavia, it had a huge influence on the development of Brick Gothic architecture throughout northern Europe. The interior hides 39 royal tombs, including the resting place of legendary rulers like Christian IV and Frederik II.

According to local legends, the cathedral may also contain the undiscovered tomb of the Viking warrior Harald I Bluetooth. A historic storm bell, one of the oldest in Denmark, adds additional historical charm to the site.
