Description
St. Martin's Cathedral in Bratislava is an impressive Gothic church with a rich history dating back to the 13th century.
For more than 300 years (1563-1830) it was the site of coronations of Hungarian rulers, including Maximilian II and Maria Theresa.
Its 85-meter tower is topped by a gold replica of St. Stephen's Crown weighing 300 kg. The interior impresses with the Baroque chapel of St. John of Nepomuk with sculptures by Georg Donner and the oldest chapel of St. Joseph dating back to the 13th century.
It is a must-see for architecture and history lovers visiting the Slovak capital.
