Description
The "Wieliczka" Salt Mine is the oldest salt mine in Europe, operating continuously since the 13th century.
This fascinating place offers nearly 300 kilometers of underground passageways stretching over nine levels, the deepest of which reaches 327 meters.
Visitors can admire four underground chapels, including the impressive St. Kinga Chapel, a masterpiece of mining craftsmanship, as well as historic salt mining technologies and an underground lake.
This unique combination of history, architecture and engineering is a symbol of Poland's national pride.
