Parque de Bolívar

Parque de Bolívar is a historic park in the heart of Medellín, founded in 1892, with an impressive equestrian statue of Simón Bolívar dating from 1923.

It covers more than 10,000 m² among 15 historic buildings, offering dense native tree cover, fountains, and an event stage. On the first Saturday of the month, the San Alejo craft fair is held here, featuring handicrafts and performances from all over Colombia. The traditional La Retreta concerts in the pergola continue a musical tradition that dates back more than a century.
