Description
Escultura Monumento a la Vida is a monumental, 14-meter-high sculpture made of concrete and bronze by the famous Colombian artist Rodrigo Arenas Betancourt, weighing almost 1,000 tons.
The work symbolizes the cycle of life, combining motifs from indigenous culture with a narrative about the fertility of the earth—the figures of women feature corn husks on their wombs, referring to indigenous beliefs. The curved form with bronze elements representing human figures creates an organic, dramatic composition.
Located in the natural surroundings of the park, the sculpture offers a reflective artistic experience away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
