Description

Knowth is one of the oldest and most important Neolithic monuments in Ireland, dating to around 3200 BC.

This site impresses with Western Europe's largest collection of megalithic art - more than 200 stones decorated with spirals, diamonds and the oldest known image of the moon in human history.

As part of the UNESCO-listed Brú na Bóinne complex, Knowth offers a fascinating journey back in time. In Irish mythology, the site is associated with the goddess Buí, spouse of Lugh of the Long Arm, and known as Cnoc Buí. Discover the secrets of ancient communities and their rituals at this unique site.
