Description

Kirpilä Art Collection is a unique collection of Finnish art housed on the top floor of a functionalist building in Helsinki's Töölö district.

The collection includes more than 540 works of art, mainly paintings from the mid-19th century to the 1980s, with a special emphasis on bold colors, portraits, landscapes and nudes.

A unique aspect of the collection is the heavy emphasis on works by female artists such as Helene Schjerfbeck and Essi Renvall. The museum also offers thematic tours, including queer tours that provide an unconventional look at the collected works.
